Etsy find: Pigeon Toe Ceramics

I felt the urge to look for porcelain today and found these lovely handmade vessels from Portland based seller Pigeon Toe Ceramics. Buy from Etsy shop here or website here. I'll be in Portland for a couple of days in Oct so might try to visit the actual studio.

Sydney dust storm

Yesterday a dust storm hit the city of Sydney and the eastern coast of Australia painting the skies a very vivid orange. There are plenty of pics on Flickr but this one by Empire! is my favourite. There are more good pics in his photo stream too.

Australian label focus: Secret Squirrel

Secret Squirrel is a small Sydney based label. The soft colours and simple lines from the Summer 09 range are pretty but not too girly. You can get some at The Grand Social.

Cute, comfortable and colourful kids shoes from Walnut Melbourne. Women's versions of ballet flats and tennis shoes coming soon apparently. The website needs more work but I'm prepared to persevere just to get my order in.

What I wore today

Lovelorn Unicorn (great blog!) got me checking out a Flickr group titled What I wore today (drawings only). I was so inspired that I quickly drew my own sketch (I just love my Wacom tablet btw!).

All things Britannia: The Edge of Love

The first thing I noticed when I logged into WGSN this morning was a womenswear trend report titled Country Heritage. Heavily influenced by traditional British fashion and styling this trend has always been around in some form or another. It is by far my favourite influence and will remain a constant in my wardrobe.
This time WGSN suggest to take inspiration from the Queen's and Princess Anne's country outfits for an offbeat Country Heritage look.
These pics are from the movie The Edge of Love. Good movie, great costumes by April Ferry.

Shiny sparkly things

I'm normally not one for sequins but these bootsy things from Viktor & Rolf are growing on me. Available from Colette.
This post is dedicated to Geri who skillfully organised and survived a whole weekend with a bunch of girls including me .

Photographer focus: Eleanor Hardwick

Eleanor Hardwick is already making a name for herself at the tender age of 16. I had no clue of what I wanted to do with myself at that age so really that's an incredible achievement.

Colourful Tuesday : Supermarket Sarah

Despite it being Colourful Tuesday I'm feeling quite flat today since someone I like is leaving the country today, possibly for good. I'm sure I'll get over it in the next few days but until then I'll just have to visit the gorgeous Supermarket Sarah online shop for some pick-me-up buys.
