Back again!

Hi again and apologies for my long absence. I was on holiday and couldn't blog due to technical difficulties. I'm back in Melbourne now and must admit I missed it while I was away.

Australian Label Focus : Obüs

L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival is upon us again so I thought I'd focus on a local label Obüs. Designed and made in Melbourne the pieces are well constructed and easy to wear. It's been a favourite of mine for a few years now.

Label focus: Gudrun og Gudrun

Based in the remote Faroe Islands, Gudrun og Gudrun make the most beautiful knits. I would love to get there one day (as well as Iceland, Svalbard and Greenland).

Alexa Chung for Madewell

So excited about the upcoming Alexa Chung range for Madewell that I can't wait until Fall 2010. I'm planning a flying visit to NYC in March/April and was going to stock on some more Madewell jeans (love my skinny ankle in dazed) but Alexa's range will not be in store yet... hmmph.

The pics above are current Madewell range so hoping that this gorgeous Mayfair dress will still be in stock in March.

Fashion at the rink

As a wannabe hockey player I spend many hours at Melbourne's only ice rink (the new Icehoouse will be opening soon though). Fashion highlights at the rink are very few and far between so you can imagine how pleased I was to discover Sally Scott's catalogue. Pure vintage-inspired winter magic!

Label Focus: Humanoid

Dutch label Humanoid has been around for 26 years yet I have only just discovered it. Beautiful fabrics and soft draping makes for very desirable pieces.

Perfection

Titled an American in London, this pic by The Sartorialist is my kind of look. The grey marle top over a white tee, the ripped jeans and of course the oxfords (I have a pair just like it!). If it was me though there would probably be stripes in there somewhere.

Wool and the Gang

Wool and the Gang are about quality wool and simple, easy knits that even beginners can get excited about. You can buy a kit, a pattern, some wool or the finished product. I love the Snood Dogg scarf (above right).

I still have to finish knitting the jumper I started last winter but then I'll be right on to it. Promise.
